For this month’s Peek Behind the Pennant, we’re taking a look at Bethany’s son, Judah Benaiah, and the “why” behind the names chosen for him. Here is some of what she shared with us.
In 2016, before her husband, Tyler, was even a thought, Bethany was reading through Exodus in the Bible and came across the tribe of Judah. "I, clear as day, felt the Lord impress on my heart that my first child would be a son and his name would be Judah," she told us. Similarly, years before the two met, Tyler heard the same name used at a conference and loved it immediately. They were already being prepared for their own Judah to join them!
"Our prayer is that Judah will not only be a leader but will also leave a lasting legacy pointing others to Jesus, the Lion of Judah!" she continued.
"Benaiah" was Tyler's pick for Judah's middle name, as Benaiah of the Bible is one of his favorites within the story. As "one of King David's mighty men" and "a lion chaser," Benaiah was a namesake steeped in meaning to both Tyler and Bethany. Further, the name Judah means "praise or thanksgiving" and Benaiah means "God built." Bethany repeated to us their gratitude for this precious boy, declaring "We are praising the Lord for what he has built and will continue to build in Judah!"
