“I'm not even sure how I picked "Sadie" out," shared her mom, Macie.
So often that's the way of it, isn't it? As if the name chooses you. Even before the gender-reveal at their anatomy scan, Macie and her husband had "Sadie" in mind. After the back-and-forth of many name possibilities, "Sadie" was the only name they agreed on, a (common?) scenario that's both a bit maddening and, also, a helpful process of elimination!
Macie wasn't ready to commit fully to the name until Sadie was born: What if something else comes up?! Her husband, in contrast, was convinced that if no other name stood out as rival, they should move forward (Macie joked this was a great example of their differing personalities.). Just in case, they opted not to declare a name until she came. Ultimately, "Sadie Grace" it was, "Grace" being an easy middle as it is also Macie's middle name.
Sadie's nursery sweetly displays both names. The first is seen on an Eventide Custom Name Pennant in beige, cream, and light pink. The second is framed below on a simple print: grace. Arranged artfully against a rich turquoise wall alongside other vintage frames, this name decor subtly marks Sadie's space as her own. And we love it.
